G'day, folks.
It's been bucketing rain today and we had to leave early and drive through the heavy rain into the city, for difficult child 3's study day. On the way in I had a fight with difficult child 3 over his lack of work output, and I told him when we got to the school I was going to talk to the disabilities teacher about the increasing likelihood of pulling difficult child 3 out of school permanently. He was shocked, I don't think he realised it could get tat bad, fast, if he doesn't smarten up, fast.
I did talk to the disabilities teacher as well as a few others. We've got some strategies in place which hopefully will help.
The Study Day was for History and Geography. The History compulsory unit was Vietnam Wart and they got the best primary source for the students - a couple of Vietnam veterans to talk to the kids and answer questions. Very effective.
After difficult child 3 finished (after 2 pm - it was a late day today) we headed back to our district where I had a 3.30 pm doctor's appointment. We didn't leave the school until 2.45 pm, got in to the doctor just in time.
The doctor checked out my shoulder and has written me a referral to a shoulder specialist.
After the doctor, it as time to take difficult child 3 to drama class. I was really tired, finally excused myself from the parents' chat and catnapped in the car. Met up with husband, we had dinner together while difficult child 3 ate pizza in the car. Then we drove home - just as we walked in the door, the phone rang and it was one of my sisters needing to talk.
It's been busy today, I need to get to bed early. Wish me luck.
Tomorrow should be a quiet day at home. I have some tasks to do, including making it clear to difficult child 3 that he MUST work and produce results or I won't take him to the special school Open Day next week (it's a highlight of the year, but he has to EARN it!). From Thursday, the Disabilities teacher will be telephoning difficult child 3 EVERY MORNING at 9 am, to make sure he has started schoolwork. So it won't be me nagging, it will be the school.
Enjoy your Tuesday.
