Good Morning!

I'm off to boot camp in a bit and then heading straight to work. I had to drag myself out of bed this morning but I know I'll be glad that I did.

Wishing all a day filled with reasons for smiles and laughter:)

Sharon, I hope boot camp doesn't do any harm, after how you were feeling a few days ago.

I had a busy day today. Early start getting difficult child 3 out the door with husband, although he's been cooperative about getting moving. Then I went out to fetch difficult child 3 at lunchtime. Meanwhile easy child 2/difficult child 2 had asked me to come with her to the first appointment with her new psychiatrist - having turned 25, she can no longer get her medications from the pediatrician. difficult child 3 wanted to get home so I gritted my teeth and did a double lot of driving - I drove difficult child 3 home then came back out to meet up with easy child 2/difficult child 2. 40 minutes each way, plus the drive to the specialist from easy child 2/difficult child 2's place.

The new doctor is very good, but is adamant that there's no sign of Asperger's. She is insistent that easy child 2/difficult child 2 be assessed for bipolar. An interesting development. We go back to the shrink next week at which point I have been asked to dig out old assessments, reports etc. Possibly some old drawings easy child 2/difficult child 2 did when very young - they were very unusual for a pre-schooler. easy child 2/difficult child 2 also has to book in for a neuropsychologist assessment because the doctor is concerned about cognitive function issues, especially frontal lobe. I've been concerned for years but never got any answers other than "ADD inattentive type, with some Asperger's traits".

I was planning on driving to Canberra tomorrow (coming back on Sunday) to see easy child and family, but the weather on the eastern seaboard has deteriorated (if possible) and flood warnings have spread down from Queensland down the interior of NSW. There are also massive storm warnings out for tomorrow coupled with the flood warnings, right where I am heading. Or was. It also means that husband's plans for his work on the weekend have just been ruined, so he may as well come with me. So we're going on Saturday now, just for overnight. Not a lot of time to do much, but it will be something.

So I get to stay home tomorrow after all, get some work done. difficult child 3 has an appointment on Friday which I can now take him to (I was going to cancel it in the morning).

Life certainly is interesting!

Sharon I hope you have a good time at boot camp. (is that even possible?) Marg sounds like you had a super busy day. I hope today is restful. husband and I have a family meeting at the psychiatric hospital. this morning. I have no idea how that will go. I am expecting super ugly, but we will see. After that it is home to clean up after the foster puppies, and then back to the psychiatric hospital. tonight for visiting hours.

Have a good work out Sharon!

Wow Marg, you say your body's cactus but you always sound like you do more than most 20 year olds.

Stressed, I will be thinking of you today as you meet with hospital staff and see your daughter... HUGS to you....

I am going to Q's school today to help with a book sale then conferences are late afternoon... Q will go with his Integrated Listening Systems (ILS) worker...he does not like to join conferences like other kids (wonder why.... even when we talk about the things he is doing well he is always on guard for the other shoe to drop...or be thrown so I NEVER make him come with me)

I think I need to get some more TUMS, LOL

Sharon (WO), Hope you have a good workout this morning.

Marg, I'm exhausted just reading about all you did and I've already downed three cups of coffee! Interesting to hear about easy child 2/difficult child 2's appointment. difficult child 1 is both bipolar and an Aspie. It can be a difficult combination to diagnose. It took us a long time to get the answers we needed. It was pure luck that an excellent team of docs were assigned to difficult child 1 during an inpatient stay. It sounds like the new doctor is very thorough and I hope the neuropsychologist is able to provide some answers as to easy child 2/difficult child 2's cognitive functioning issues.

StessedM0mma, Thinking of you and hoping all goes well with the psychiatric hospital meeting this morning...

buddy, For both difficult child 1 and difficult child 2, school conferences were always such a complete waste of time. I always dreaded them too. As far as difficult child 2's conferences, it's interesting that in elementary school we always got an earful about his temper, lack of control in the classroom, etc., etc., etc., Once he hit his last year of middle school, it's like a magic wand was waved over him - He was suddenly the perfect student, teachers loved him, he could do no wrong, and never got anything lower than an A. Hang in there... Will be sending lots of positive vibes your way today...

Today it's a brief return to winter. It's cold this morning, supposed to be really cold this evening, and we're supposed to get up to a couple inches of snow. Thinking of you Sharon (LDM) and wishing I could send it your way... I've just about finished my coffee and am going to head to the exercise room soon. Hope everyone has a good day or at least one reason to smile... SFR

Sounds like everyone has a "big busy day", as Miss KT used to say, planned.

I'm working this morning, second grade, and am trying to fully wake up and get going.

Have a wonderful Wednesday!
