Good Morning,

Well we made it halfway through the week! It already feels like it should be Friday. We were one of the few school districts in the area that didn't close yesterday due to the bad weather. Everything was canceled for last night-difficult child's wrestling and my book club. We did eventually make it to the health club though. I have seen snow banks like this in quite a few years-it's really very pretty and I'm starting to think maybe we'll have a white Christmas :snowman:

It looks to be another long day as I've been awake since 3:30. I'm hoping to get back to sleep for a bit before going to dig out the nice present I'm sure the plow has left over night! After work it's off to the health club and then home to figure out dinner-should be interesting as we've been too tired to go out to the grocery store!

I hope everyone enjoys a peaceful day and finds many reasons to smile. :skate:

Good morning Sharon & all who follow.

Sharon, hope you get dug out with little problem this morning.

We didn't get snow yesterday - in fact it was a beautiful sunny day. The reflection of the sun off the snow was almost blinding - sure broke the blahs from November & early December though.

I have an appointment with ENT doctor & audiologist this morning; more testing that needs to be done by the end of the year & before I see neuro doctor. I'm just hoping, as my hearing has gotten worse, that my hearing aides can just be adjusted. They're little computers & we chose this style because of that very reason.

Home to make dinner so I can just pop it in the oven & a nap.

I'll be excited to see how the appointment/meeting between kt & wm went. It will all be said & done by the time I get out of the doctor's office. I'm glad that I'll be there & not sitting at home waiting to hear how things went.

Enjoy your Wednesday. May your home be warm & calm & your loved ones cooperative.

:rudolph: Good Middle of the Week!!

Sharon, we are having the total opposite weather - we have a tropical heatwave!! Monday we set a new record at 79 and today we are supposed to set a new record at 81 degree! None of this :sled: or this :skate: around here! Hope you get your car dug out this morning!

Linda, hope your doctor appointment is positive :doctor:. Sending wishes that the meeting with kt and wm is one that moves them forward and strengthens their spirits

As I mentioned to Sharon, our weather is extremely un-December-like. My elderly aunt calls it "cemetary weather". We were 79 on Monday, in the 50's yesterday, 81 today, 70s tomorrow, and 40's on friday and sat! Most folks around here are actually wishing for winter to just set in :snowman:

Today the house has me for the duration!

Wishing everyone a great day :gingerbread:

G'day, everybody.

Sharon I, I wish I could see your snow. We quite enjoyed the snow we experienced in New Zealand, once we were safe in the town. It was lovely to wake up in the morning to a winter wonderland, it was something we'd never experienced before. And the view we had was already marvellous - a glacial lake surrounded by high mountains. The snow went right down to the waterline. Then later, driving north, we drove through more wonderful scenery, all white and icy blue, the snow-covered mountains reflected in the glacier-fed lake. I was sorry to leave it behind, although husband was glad to be on safer roads.

Sharon II, I think your day was even warmer than ours - an Australian summer! We had some very light misty rain this morning, although it was heavy enough overnight to flood our north road to the highway. Luckily the floodwaters were down by the time easy child 2/difficult child 2 & I had to drive out this afternoon. She had to see the gastroenterologist, to see why she has been feeling sick after eating for the last few months.

Linda, I do hope things go well for kt & wm. And with your appointments also. It will be good to get it out of the way before Christmas. easy child 2/difficult child 2 is now booked in for an isotope scan, to see how her GI tract functions. The specialist thinks she may have gastroparesis, which I'd not heard of before. If she does, it could account for the appendicitis also. A lot of tests, including ECG and many blood tests, all to be done before Christmas because he wants to see her in early January. There are a number of things he wants to rule out, including diabetes. He seems to be a very good doctor. I also saw a certificate on the wall for the University Medal (Sydney Uni) so he must be good.

Tomorrow we take difficult child 3 to school for the Presentation Day. mother in law & husband are coming too. Teachers kept asking if we would be there, saying it would be good to see difficult child 3 for Presentation Day. His Year Advisor has told me quietly that he is to get the Year 8 Year Advisor's Award, which difficult child 3 doesn't know. I don't know if there's anything else; for difficult child 3, that will still be amazing. This is a kid who simply wasn't learning anything in mainstream; we're still finding gaps in his education.
Then after we've finished at the school, we'll go and get more Christmas shopping done. We've got to somehow take back mother in law's Christmas present, a digital photo frame which isn't working, husband wanted to load some photos on it and re-pack it, so when she opens it it's already got lots of pictures of her grandkids on it. But it seems that it won't work with Macs. It seems weird - surely you just load jpegs onto it? We only have a few days to sort this one out before she flies to Perth to spend Christmas with husband's sister and family.

I'm now going to immerse myself in info on gastroparesis. 'Tis a puzzlement.'

Enjoy your Wednesday.

Good morning everyone. My morning was going great until I got the bonus news. Apparently, all the bigwigs in the company are worthy of some nice fat bonuses, but not me. I am grateful for getting SOMEthing, I am sorely disappointed that it's about 1/4 of what I was expecting based on past years. Ugh - I can't even speak.

Have a good day everyone. Hopefully difficult child will get a job today.

Edited to add: I just felt the little stone I carry in my pocket as a gently reminder to find something to be thankful for each day. I am thankful that for the most part, my family is healthy. I am thankful that we are gainfully employed and that H and I can provide for our family. I'm thankful for every one of my friends here and in 'real' life, that my mom's health has opened the lines of communication between my siblings and me. I am thankful that easy child is doing so well in school and that difficult child has decided to return to school in January. So, even though I'm p!ssed about my paltry bonus, I am still thankful for other things - none of which are money related!
