Got A Letter From difficult child's School

Saying that one of his art pieces has been selected for the 8th grade art show! It's a judged show and the winners will receive prizes. I think he was so surprised that he nearly fell over! I asked him if he knew what was entered, and he said he had no idea because he's "a lousy artist!" His words, not mine.

Guess we'll just have to go see what it is on the night of the art show!

I thought this was funny. After we read the letter and told difficult child that he was going to be in the art show he looked at me and said, "Is that okay, Mom? Can we go? Please?" I laughed and told him OF COURSE we were going!

Do you think he really thought we wouldn't go?
