:witchcrafting:Double, double, toil and trouble..... oh, I mean Good Morning!

I always think of Macbeth when I see a witch stirring a caldron. Hope your morning will be a smooth one.

I will hit the gym this morning and then back home for another home stuff day. Tons on the agenda, but I hope to have most of it done by 2! A big order, but I'm determined to work hard so I can play hard this afternoon!!

Oh, the photo shoot of difficult child by easy child went great yesterday! The requirement was to turn in two rolls of film to get an eventual 3 different portraits showing personality. Goodness they had fun! I thought difficult child would baulk but he actually had fun. That, and easy child bribed him with a trip to Wendy's when he started getting cold!!

Have a great Wednesday everyone! :witchy:

Good Morning,

Sharon-I'm glad both easy child and difficult child had fun with the photo shoot. easy child probably didn't even need to bribe difficult child but I bet he loved the Wendys! My difficult child could easily be bribed to do almost anything for Wendys-he loves it! Get that work done so you can play-sounds like fun!:ghost:

Yesterday was a very long day! Poor husband, what a not fun birthday. First we had the easy child thing (I posted in wc) and then we had an overflowing toilet and the basement door somehow got locked and he had to unhook it by the hinges. difficult child was a difficult child. I did make husband a german chocolate cake though and some popcorn last night.

I'm going to try work today. I feel a bit better and the thought of writing out more sub plans-yuck. Keep your fingers crossed the pain doesn't come back full force. In addition to my back my foot is also now killing me due to a fall I took yesterday-call me Grace!

difficult child has a psychiatrist appointment. after school tonight but not til 5:20 so it is going to be well after 6 by the time we get home tonight. For the kids it's like a Friday today-they don't have school the rest of the week due to teacher conventions.

No club for me tonight but I do start physical therapy soon. I miss my workouts.

Wishing everyone a day filled with laughter and smiles.:pumpkin:

Good Morning,

Sharon, LDM, how can you have the self discipline to go to the gym that early in the morning? Hope it helps to energize your day.

Sharon, WO, it sounds like daughter did a fantastic job on her project and you could get to keep the finished portrait, yes?

Rabbit, I hope you get a great therapist that can work well with your difficult child.

I have a freezing cold trip to a pumpkin patch with 2 three y/o's today, then I need to finish my updates to my parent report for my 8 y/o twins, We finally have a neuro appointment for both of them tommorrow. A small chuckle for your morning, Major tells me his teacher will give him Wendy's coupons at school, but he can't tell the other kids, I ask "what do you have to do to earn that?".....drum roll ..."just be nice"

Good morning friends,

Sharon, the photo shoot sounds like a huge success. Good luck completing all that's on your agenda so you can have a free afternoon of playtime.

Sharon (wo), so sorry to hear about the foot now; take care of that pain. Your body is telling you to take care of you. Don't push yourself too hard. by the way, did you save me a piece of b/day cake? ;)

Good morning Rabbit ~ hope your day is calm.

I'm up & checking my calendar for the day. kt has a half day of school (though she is refusing to go to school) & has a psychiatrist appointment this afternoon.

Our second van died (possible battery/alternator) & will be towed off this morning. Praying it's just the battery. Anyway we need to get the cars moved out of the garage so our delivery of wood & supplies can be delivered for the building party this coming Friday, Saturday & Sunday. I have to tell you, if it wasn't Halloween weekend I wouldn't have an issue having this delivered in the back next to the garge. I don't trust kids on a Friday Halloween.

I'm staying in pjs as long as I can before kt & I head out to psychiatrists - cannot get warm this morning.

Hope you have a warm, calm & cooperative day ahead. Find a reason to smile.

Good Morning Everyone:coffee2: (me today):coffee:,

Sharon (LDM), I've always loved photography. Sounds like your difficult child and easy child had some fun. It's nice to hear that they spent some quality time together. Enjoy your afternoon!!!!

Sharon, (WO), I'm sorry about your foot. I read your post in the WC yesterday, but couldn't respond - difficult child sort of things... Anyway, please be careful and take it easy at work today. I'm glad you're going to start PT soon.

Rabbit, I've got my fingers crossed that your difficult child's day goes smoothly. It's good she has an appointment tomorrow.

This morning I'm visiting husband's aunt. She is elderly and getting very feeble. I'm going to try to talk to her about assisted living or elderly housing. She can't remain in her own home much longer. It's sad to see her physically going down hill. I hope I'm able to help her.

It's unbelievable, but so far, after I pick my difficult children up after school, I don't have much running around to do. I'm hoping for a CALM and PEACEFUL evening...

Hope everyone has a great day...:autumn::devilish::autumn:WFEN

Linda,

Sorry I missed you!!! I'm sorry about your van. I've got my fingers crossed that it is just a minor problem and not expensive... Hope you manage to get kt off to school without too much trouble - It's good she has an appointment later today. Take care and stay warm!!! WFEN

house of cards,

Good morning to you too - I guess I really need more caffeine - Didn't mean to miss you either!!! Enjoy your trip to the pumpkin patch!!! Have a great day!!!WFEN

Good morning everyone!
I had my first seminar for the advocacy stuff yesterday. It was really awesome, the person giving it was the head of the education committee in the State House here in Pennsylvania and really walked us through where control of the schools lies and how bills are passed.
on the other hand, my difficult child had a meltdown because he did not get the snack he wanted in the afternoon. I sent him baby carrots today and I hope that he will have a good day.
Today I have to go to a parent-teacher conference and then technology stuff for the school.

Little Dude's Mom - Glad easy child and difficult child were able to enjoy each other. Work hard - you have fun awaiting you!

Wiped - Your back just has to straighten out soon! I hope it will heal quicker. Let's hope today is a turn around day for how things are going in your house. Sending sprinkles - I mean loads and loads of good things for you.

Rabbit - Stay safe. Somethimes it is best to have a professional see difficult child during an episode. Doctors don't always understand how intense the behavior is until it is seen by them.

House - Dig out the warmest clothes possible. Here's to Major enjoying a nice day.

Timer - Here's is to a battery change will do it. Do you have tarp to cover the building materials? Also, a friends huge mean dog to borrow to stand guard Friday night?

Wishing - Good luck with your aunt and here is to a quiet, calm, peaceful evening.

I didn't sleep well last night. I am looking forward to my January annual physical with a new doctor. I feel like some things will be looked at closer. I hate it when concerns are brushed aside.

easy child is looking at apartments - She needs to get a better paying job to afford one. Her friend now says she can't be a roomy until Summer and easy child certainly can't afford being on her own.

I am going to take Friday off of work so will work longer today.

Everyone have a great day! Find a way to make your difficult child laugh!

Artana - You snuck in on me again. We must be on the same posting schedule. I hope difficult child has a better day today and you also have a GREAT day! Good luck with the parent/teacher conference.

Good morning everyone! Wow! It's chilly this morning at 34F. Burr!

Sharon - the photo shoot sounds like a great success! I'd give anything to be able to let difficult child 1 & difficult child 2 be in the same room together, much less to do something fun and productive. lol.

Wiped - sorry to hear hubby's b/day was a bust. That stinks. Maybe you guys can find a spare second somewhere to do something special to celebrate just the two of you (even if it is a day late.)

Rabbit - hope today is better for your difficult child. Meltdowns are no way to spend an evening.

House - If I just "be nice," will the teacher give me coupons? :)

Linda - hope kt can find some peace within herself today. I can only imagine what she must be going through/feeling. I know this is the worst time of year for you guys. Hopefully, this afternoon will prove to be some help to her. Good luck with the van - hope it's only minor.

Wishing - hope you have a pleasant visit/talk with husband's aunt. I know those aren't easy conversations to have. My mother had a time convincing her parents that it was time they moved to assisted living arrangements. They are both gone now, but it was a difficult move/decision for them at the time. They both had a hard time admitting they were "old." (There's getting old, and then there's old...they wanted to stick with just "getting old," rather than admit they were already old & needed help with daily things.)

Artana - glad you enjoyed the seminar, hope difficult child likes his snack today. Good luck with the parent teacher conference.

Adrianne - try not to work too hard today, but keep thinking about having Friday off if the day starts to drag on too long for you. :)

I have nothing on the agenda today but house-type stuff. Some electrical work, some plumbing (hooking up the new sump pump for the basement.) Yesterday was a crazy, run, run, run day, so I'm looking forward to having a slower day today.

The good part about yesterday is that Raydin checked out "perfect" with her first visit to the pediatrician. And the meeting with difficult child 2's teachers went very well. They all said how wonderful he is to have in class. He is going to need some services from Spec. Ed, but what we haven't decided yet. Everyone is brain storming ways to help him make friends and improve his social skills for the time being. His Visual Art teacher invited him to join the Art Club (something normally reserved for second year art students.) He's going to the first meeting this afternoon. She bragged on how creative he is and how expressive his artwork is...even asking if he had used art therapy in the past. (Yes, along with a host of other therapies.) Hopefully, he'll enjoy it and feel good about being "privileged" to join a year early.

I'm just looking forward to an all "at-home" to-do list today & having an extra hour before difficult child 2 comes home today.

OK, I'm going to have to skip the individual greetings. Sorry, folks, but it's almost Thursday here on a busy day.

difficult child 3 got a warning letter from one of his teachers - an assessment task not done, we did know about it but as it involves an essay which he's been struggling with, and I HAVE been talking to the school about the problem - hey, we do the best we can.

I got difficult child 3 to the GP this afternoon to get a referral to a new specialist, a psychiatrist who specialises in autism. We got the contact through the research project we got involved in. And speaking of that research project - two weeks ago we were there for the first session and in the waiting room a girl came up to speak to difficult child 3, she seemed to be practising her social skills on someone. They spoke for about 2 minutes, mostly tis girl talking to difficult child 3. Then she came back and asked him for his contact details for her diary. difficult child 3 told her - honestly, he'd divulge his bank account details!

And today he received a party invitation, we think it's from her (I can't remember her name, we only got her first name anyway). But it's to a 21st! From a girl we spoke to for 2 minutes, who lives on the other side of town, whose family we just don't know at all!
difficult child 3 was thinking that she wanted to be his girlfriend - which worries me, if he thinks it works like that. I told him I don't think we should let him go, we just don't know them and it would be very awkward. The girl was VERY difficult child.

I had to go back to my rheumatologist to get the radiology request form fixed up and I had to park around the corner. As I walked from the car I realised - we were right outside the childcare centre where easy child 2/difficult child 2 is doing her current prac. I had arranged for her to meet up with us to collect some face paint gear, it was all in my car - what better opportunity than to get it to her immediately? So I went over and rang the bell.

Inside, easy child 2/difficult child 2 was reading a story to the children. The doorbell went, and one child said, "That's probably my mummy."
easy child 2/difficult child 2 said, "Maybe not. It could be MY mummy instead," not expecting it to be, of course.
She was very glad to be saved the trip to meet up with us later.

At drama class later, difficult child 3 got an invitation to a Halloween party on Friday night. I think we'll go. He won't want to dress up, of course, but I might be able to persuade him to let me draw a 'scar' on his forehead so he can go as Harry Potter. Seriously, that is all he needs! Besides, easy child 2/difficult child 2 has all the face paint...

Oh, and we got told today - "The Black Balloon" has got ELEVEN nominations for AFI (Australian Film Industry) awards including Best Actor for Rhys Wakefield, Best Supporting Actress for Toni Collette, Best Supporting Actor for Luke Ford (currently in "Mummy III"), Best Film, Best Screenplay...

For more details see www.afi.org.au.

Time to head for bed. It's Thursday already. Washing/cleaning/cooking day.

Enjoy your Wednesday.
