I decided to get a perm today. I don't like to go to the big department store salons, and the salon I used to go to, the lady there knows us all way too well and spends the whole time talking about DEX or husband's ex. I don't like that.
So I tried the other salon in town. The clientelle is...older, generally.
Turns out, exMIL goes there. The lady that did my perm did great, and was chatty, as usual. One of the first things she said was I was an attractive lady for being a (my married name). Hm...She asked how I came to have my married name. In the course of conversation, I gathered she was about as thrilled about The Brooms as I am, so I finally suggested that I wasn't a big Broom fan, either.
And boy, oh boy, did they let things loose then.
Including....husband's unmarried 45 year old first cousin's boyfriend of 2 years that just moved in with her (yes, I've seen him, he does exist) is the other stylist's husband of 25 years. She threw him out 2 days ago.
I didn't share any of my stories, just listened to theirs, but it was kinda nice to be in openly like-minded company!
(PS - this cousin is husband's sister's best friend, too...)
