Well I didnt have one of my kids who got their DL on time. I had thought I was being quite reasonable when I told them that if they wanted to get first the learners permit and then the DL, they had to show responsibility and maturity by maintaining A's and B's so they would get the good grade discount on the insurance, get a part-time job after school to help with insurance costs, and stay out of trouble. Not one of my kids could do all three things. So I took that to mean they just werent invested enough in actually having a license.
