I'm ready for October to be over!

This has been a stressful month. (or why I'm disliking doctors right now!)

The month started out with Grandma itching like crazy. Mom takes her to the doctor. He says she has scavies. So for the last FOUR weeks we've been treating and retreating her. We have all furniture wrapped in plastic. We wash EVERYTHING Everyday! 11 loads of laundry every single day because Grandma keeps getting reinfected since the scavy isn't going away. After weekly appointments with the doctor and nothing getting better, Mom took Grandma to a dermatologist yesterday. Grandma never had scavies. Her immune system is attacking itself. Basically, Grandma is allergic to herself. So, for four weeks Grandma has been on quaratine so she couldn't go see Grumpus and we've been working around the clock to get rid of something that wasn't even there.

Then, 2 weeks ago, Dad went to the Navy ER because he had blood in his urine. The ER do says "You have bladder cancer" and sends him to the Army ER, wher that doctor says "you have bladder cancer" but the Army can't do any tests until you go through the urologist. So they send Dad back to the Navy ER. Another ER doctor says "you have bladder cancer". It took 24 hours before we got to see the urologist at the Army hospital. (These hospitals are 2 hours away from each other).... The urologist looks at Dad and says "I doubt it's cancer". Turns out that Dad had a bladder infection and the blood thinners that he's on caused all the bleeding. Dad is fine, but for 24 hours we were very scared.

A week after that, Mom had a health scare that turned out to be a false alarm.

And, I delveloped Tinnitus (constant ringing in the ears) and Vertigo. And to top that off, I now have a rash on my chest. It could of been from the vertigo medicine but most likely is just from nerves....or so the doctor says.

And then Ant called my Monday night all stressed out. There was an accident at the saw mill. His friend got his arm cut off! And Ant was the closest person so he ripped off his shirt and tried to stop the bleeding until the ambulance could get there. He was really shook up over it. His friend is doing okay. They were able to reattach the arm and have him in a medically induced coma for a while.

So....as you can see, I am so ready for this month to be over with! And I'm hoping that November is a much calmer, quieter month!!

Of course, now that Grandma no longer has to be in quarantine, her first question wasn't "when can I see my husband?" but "when are you taking me to the casino?"

Even with no kids in the house anymore.....my life is still crazy. Guess I'm a magent for a crazy life.

Good Grief. I thought my month was lousy until I read about yours. Really I am honestly so sorry that October has been a painful rollercoaster ride for you and your family. I guess you have to feel thankful that there were "false" alarms but how awful it must have been for you.

I hope the vertigo is going away soon. I have been there done that a number of times and it was awful. Sometimes, for me, it is stress induced or exhaustion induced. Fingers crossed that November will bring much to be thankful for. Hugs DDD

holy heck batmom!

That is crazy.

Taking a step back, could the rash and ear stuff be related to a singular cause? Could you actually have a virus or something that is causing the whole thing? I'd hate for you to suffer and feel it is stress if there is a cause that could be helped.

I sure hope November is a much much better month. For all of you.

Well, tinnitus is mosty "nerves" driven... vertigo is not. What is the cause of the vertigo? I'd be chasing that part down... don't be put off by the doctor that it's "just" stress.

The veritgo is from Sinus/fluid on the ear so I am taking benadryl at night and it's helping a lot.

Because we thought Grandma had scavies, even thought the doctor was 99.999% sure I didn't, I needed to be treated as if I did. The pharmacist warned that the human pesticide would cause the rash to be extremely irratated and would take 1-2 weeks to get over the treatment.

Life should get better. I no longer have to run over to my Mom's every evening to help shower Grandma. That was a workout! I love my Grandma but she is getting to be more and more like a 3 year old. We heat up the bathroom, we have an extra space heater going...it's so hot in there that I have sweat dripping off my nose and Grandma is complaining about freezing. And she lets you know that she's not happy. This is were difficult child training comes in handing because I just tell Grandma that she's a tough ol' bird and can handle it. Ohhh...I get the dirtiest look from that. lol
