Lexapro FDA approved for use in adolescents

Because I've taken so many SSRIs before I found one that works for me, I'd still caution parents here to be careful when any teen is on these medications. Antidepressants can save your life, and they can make you suicidal and worse. A horrible paradox, but the truth. Amitriptylene, Tofrinil, Prozac, and Zoloft were hell for me. And I do mean hell. Nortriptylene was tolerable, but didn't do enough (maybe helped 40%). Paroxotine (Paxil) which makes many people nutsy is a miracle drug for me. There are no rules and the drugs don't always do what they are supposed to do. My daughter flipped on Prozac and Celexa and Lexapro is like multi-Celexa. So just monitor your kids really well and if they start acting worse...contact your psychiatrist ASAP.
And that is my lecture for da day ;)

Mom? What's a difficult child?
I posted this a week or a couple of days ago, can't remember. A few people commented on their kids being on it.
I thought it was interesting.
