Non-addictive sleep medications for my older child?

My twenty-four year old can't sleep and says she has "racing thoughts." Forget about mood stabilizers or possible BiPolar (BP). She was put on Depakote once and felt so zombied on it (not to mention she got ovarian cysts) that she isn't ready for anything like that and I can't make her do it. I do understood her point. She literally slept, went to school, slept, etc. on Depakote. So...she calls and says she can't sleep because "my mind is so busy." She tried Melatonin and Benadryl and doesn't want to be prescribed anything addictive. I mentioned Seroquel. She doesn't want to go to a psychiatrist because "they'll just want to put me on all sorts of medications and make me a zombie." j
Any suggestions that a GP may prescribe? Thanks!

Not sure. Ambien, Ambien CR, Lunesta, are all being used for sleep. I don't know if any are non-addictive. HAs she tried the OTC sleep aids? I don't get help, but she might.

Sorry.
