None of us are having sex with those idiots!

I give up. We are now carrying weapons and have 911 on speed dial. I cant protect my property that way but its the only avenue left to me. Im thinking of getting a gun.

Janet,

Look into a civil no contact order. I am not an attorney but just did a quick google search. It protects against stalkers and the definition seems to work for you. No previous intimate/dating relationship is required.

I wasn't aware that was a requirement for restraining orders. It always looks so easy on TV. Hope you're able to get it resolved and keep your home and family safe.

Janet,
We have a neighbor who doesn't like my 16 yr old easy child. One day he called me, and proceeded to scream at the top of his lungs how he was going to come over here and rip his freaking arms off- I hung up, called husband, husband called the man back, but he didn't answer. Thinking he was on his way over here, I went to the police station. I told the cops what happened and they asked me if I wanted to press charges. There wasn't even a witness. This man was told lies by his own son what happened on the bus, easy child never did a thing to anyone. But his son is a true blue difficult child, while easy child has still never even had a detention. Anyway, the point is that you HAVE RIGHTS, you want to press charges, you want to go before a judge. Those cops handled the situation wrong, and they even heard the threat. You have to get to someone in charge, or just someone who cares. You would think the cops job is to help make sure people are safe in their own homes. (My neighbor was foung not guilty although the judge believed he did it, because he said he didn't think the man should lose his casino license for this-which is what would have happened. I do take comfort in knowing he had to pay thousands in legal fees)-If I could press charges for that, so can you for this, which is way worse!-Alyssa

Oh we have pressed charges for every word and action that has happened. Here our cops dont do anything...well unless you are CORY!...you have to go down to the magistrates office and swear out a warrant. Now I have no idea what you can do if someone murders you and you cant get to the magistrates office!

The magistrate himself told me that we needed to figure out how to deal with this ourselves without keeping to coming down there to bother him!

Of course the judge I saw today for the no contact order said just the opposite...call the cops everytime they breath. The judge was in the civil division and I was attempting to get one under the assumption that what is being done is stalking and harassment. No dice. Judge said we had to have had a consensual or rape between someone involved. Ok...fine. Me and 911 will be best buddies and Jamie is sending me a cops bully stick thingy...its small, iron and if you swing it, you are gonna take someone down.

It's like something out of a horror movie, that you have to be in fear like that and nobody will help. It's especially frustrating when it's the judge! Maybe try the media in some way.

WTH???

Then how do all those famous people get restraining orders against stalkers, trespassers, and people who are harassing them?

Be safe, Janet.

Janet, can you move away any time soon? I know running away is not always the answer but it really sounds like it in this situation. I don't know how you are in one piece still. If I had to live in fear like that I would probably have been hospitalized by now.

Something is seriously wrong with this. They want a sex story first? It sounds like these people must already be in bed with the cops and the judge. Well, let's see, there are things a guy in your family could do that could qualify as a sexual act the next time one of them messes with somebody. (It was just a thought)

I'm really sorry you have to live like this, Janet. Keep calling different people, get allies, witnesses, etc. Something has to give here- it is too absurd.

Louisville sluggers are wonderful, if you get my drift. Keep one near windows and outside doors of the home. Keep one in the car within easy reach. Keep one within easy reach of all family members while outside. If you want them down fast, aim for knees, then dial 911.

The 911 operators would know me personally by the time I was done. Cops would be so sick of me calling they'd arrested them to shut me up. How about an anonymous tip off to the local newspaper about how citizens aren't safe in their own homes??

Are you sure you can't file stalking charges??? I could and nearly did for Travs, and it was the cops who told me I could. Have you tried the states attorney's?? I mean, these jerks have to have someone over their heads somewhere.

This is so ridiculous. Ok. So Cory has a bad rep. What on earth has that got to do with the rest of you?? This reminds me of why I moved away from my hometown and have no desire to go back and visit.:dissapointed:

Praying hard for you. Stay safe and keep your head.

(((hugs)))

call 911........call 911
....had an afterthought,

If you can't get a restraining order unless you have sex?

Then tell them they #*()@#( you every day and ask if that counts?

(sending myself to the corner.....AGAIN) :full:

I went out and bought heavy duty door locks and motion sensor lighting. We are still backing the work van up against the house so no one could attempt to pry the back doors open. I am going to get a video system when we can afford one.

So far no one has bothered us since Sunday so maybe they got the hint.

I'm also hoping they got the hint. Maybe they thought with all their scare tactics you wouldn't actually go to the cops, who knows?

Glad you've stepped up security. I hope it stays nice and quite from here on.

((hugs))

A maze of Grace - that about sums it up
hmmmm I had a man stalk me for 3 years and then break into my home and try to rape me with a gun while my kids were sleeping in the next room (for the record I kicked his arse, threw him out, he was caught, convicted after 3 years of being out on bail, and died of cancer in prison). But I was also told no Restraining order because he was not my spouse or lover! Heck he was just my STALKER, but that was not good enough, there's something screwed up with the justice system on this one!!!

I recommend pepper spray, post traumatic stress and guns are not a good match

No question TROs are hard to get. My stalker broke into my home twice. He was caught, released on his own recog, made statements that I was in love with him and he'd make sure no one else could be with me. Given all of that, I still couldn't get a restraining order. I finally got one when he grabbed me in public and a stranger stopped him from kidnapping me. Then I got a TRO.

The reality is they are worthless if anyone truly wants to do you harm. The only good is you do have a piece of paper the police have to enforce.
