on your blankin' doorstep this evening. Yeppers! This is one of
those "how many more straws can your back support days". Lordy
Lordy. It jes ain't spose ta bee this hard, guys.

difficult child (not easy child/difficult child) is having a MEGA hard time this week. He is NOT
handling life well. That is an understatement.

What has me tettering on the edge? I don't know if I can explain
it to you all. This is the intimate family part of the Board but
I'm on the edge tonight. difficult child is talking non-stop. He is not
sleeping well. He is giggling inappropriately. I think the school year is catching up with him. He is walking to my store
to "be with" me instead of taking the bus home...and I am wishing
I had some place to escape. There is no way to get his medications changed as school ends in ten days. This behavior is beyond the
Aspergers...this sure as H looks and sounds like BiPolar (BP) that is no
longer under control.

Today he came in laughing and showed me a card for the State of
Florida Teen Hotline Crisis Line. He was smiling and laughing because a couple of kids gave him the card and said "call these
people pal, cause you need help". He loved the attention. OMG!

I think I want Mickey to send me to a treatment center! I need
a you-know-whattin' break!

Back to dinner prep. The Whiner DDD

Ugh. He sounds like my Kanga -- completely off the wall. Thank God that her Geodon knocks her out at night or I'd be checking into a psychiatric hospital.

You are amazing to take in your grandsons. I hope that you can get a psychiatrist appointment soon and get the medications adjusted.

I "think" the mystery is solved...or at least partially solved.
He has not taken his Depakote/Risperdal at bedtime for two nights
in a row because "he forgot" due to the pressure of studying for
his finals.

That's a good thing/bad thing. It will be good if he can regain his balance in a few days but, of course, the behavior at school
is a lousy way to end the year. All in all it has been his best
school year.

What a life! DDD

Well I'm sure glad you figured it out. I agree you should monitor the medications, especially for your own sanity!!

Absolutely, right. The funny thing is that I have an ongoing
battle (well...sortof) with his mother GFGmom because she never
supervises his medications. He CAN NOT take his morning medicine with-o
supervision and at home we actually take his pills and water to
his bed, wake him up (not fun with any teen!) and watch as they
go down his gullet! on the other hand, he has been fully trustworthy with
his evening pills for about a year so it is not unusual for him
to say "I'm headed to bed and 'YES, Mama, I took my pills!' :))

Like everyone he AND I have messed up once or twice when life was
hectic or one of us fell assleep early. This is the first time
that he evidently has been so stressed out and so tired that he
has not only not taken them but has told me "I already took my
pills."....when he hadn't....and thought he had, I guess.

He has come such a long long way with daily effort for years and
years. It will break my heart if his problems overtake his progress. He's lived with us almost half his life when we include the years in preschool, elementary, and these past
consequtive years. He is "quirky" but if he catches a break
along the way he can be happy and successful. Fingers crossed.

DDD if I lived in FL you would be very welcome on my doorstep. I am glad you managed to find a possible reason for the weird behavior. I hope he is on track again real soon. -RM

Oh gosh, DDD, I'm glad you figured out the mystery ... and also glad, as Suz said, that you and husband are in your grandsons' lives. Without your steady influence and love, things wouldn't be going so well.

Hopefully he can get back to having a good end of school year.

Sending hugs, my friend,
Deb

LOL! There is some room for interpretation of "things wouldn't
be goins so well". LOL DDD

Wow...does not taking your medications for only two days do that? I sure hope once they get on board, that difficult child will be his usual self.

See.....I am posting a little bit.
