The looks.......Do these people even understand the side of the story where things got so bad there was no alternative,

We know because we hear all the time - comments made about children and their parents failure. If maybe they just would have been whipped, not whipped, no cell phone, more consequences, etc.

Leafy, I hope your husband is on the mend. I think Rain was extremely brave for facing that man in court. I know hearing her story was incredibly difficult for you, but you can be proud of her for taking a stand. When you live with an abuser, the first step to freedom is saying to the abuser, "No more." I hope for Rain's sake that she continues to want better for herself.

Thank you friend. I am hoping the same for Rain as well. Only time will tell.
She has not been to see her dad, he is gravely ill. She was aware he is in the hospital.
Life can change in the blink of an eye.
I hope in the next blink it will change for the better.
