Outcomes of conduct problems in adolescence: 40 year follow up - British Medical Journal

The results of this prospective population based study suggest that adolescents who engage in externalising behaviour experience multiple social and health impairments that adversely affect them throughout adult life. Given the long term costs to society and the distressing impact on the adolescents themselves, our results might have considerable implications for public health policy.

Excellent article. I'm an advanced practice nurse who works with severely chronically ill renal disease patients. Those that have had or do have mental health issues do not handle their physical ailments well either. This has also been proven.

It is a sad commentary.
