Quitting my job a few months before hub retires

I handed in my notice tonight. This is after a day of seeing a wedding venue and a hotel and almost not getting back in time for work. Decided the wedding comes first and that the small wage I make isn't worth giving up Thurs., Friday and Saturday night with my husband. So after two weeks, one of which I will be in Chicago, I will be waiting for hub to retire in March or April by volunteering, hitting the gym and being there for my daughter's excitement and texts/phone calls.

Today I spent much time with Hunter's mom and we get along great. We are both casual down to earth, laid back and goofy and I will be honored to call her....whatever the hello you call your daughters mother in law....lol. the hotel is perfect for these two. We couldn't get into the ceremony venue to see the inside but we will go another day. I just have such a warm feeling about this entire situation.

Anyhow, it's time for me to focus on the rest of my life. I have three main passions;

1. Work with rescue dogs and adopt one that nobody else wants. This is a must.

2. Work again with the homeless, maybe getting more involved in volunteering, and making a difference to some people.

3. Become a registered peer specialist for young people who struggle with mental illness especially depression and anxiety. I want them to know they can live a wonderful life and do well.

Hugs to all

Long road but the path ahead holds hope.
Just read this SWOT how bitter sweet and new beginning and and end as well. I am sure your work colleagues will miss you terribly.

I love all of your passions and know you will embrace them to their fullest.

Enjoy enjoy enjoy.

You will like this..
A friend of ours adopted an older female a few moths ago.
He went to the pound to pick out a pet. This pug mix looked pitiful and he commented on it the the girl who was filling her water bowl.
The girls there said, "Yeah. I think she knows"
He asked, "Knows what?"
"She is over her limit. She is being put down tomorrow."
He said, "well that made my choice easy. I'll take her"
he took her home. terrific little lady. come to find out..she was pregnant! 9 puppies, 6 survived. he is keeping 1 , 3 are spoken for and he has to find homes the other 2.
Poor dog, turned into spoiled, lucky dog.

Oh thank you!!! Almost NOTHING makes me as happy as a great, kindhearted story about amazing people who help the voiceless needy!!!; Especially the homeless population, needy children and animals, like dogs.

On a more sober note, I could never work at a place that puts dogs down. I would be in constant tears or have a dog hoard. I cant believe there are workers that can bear it. But I guess its good or nobody would help the poor animals in kill shelters.

Lots of prayers to the new family!!! :) And thanks for the pick me up story! Very amazing and happy!
