Well, it's certainly true, Linda. The platitudes one hears when someone you love dies is astounding. I'm not sure you ever completely heal after a loss of monstrous magnitude, and certainly the loss of a family member qualifies as that.

Just a few weeks ago I was talking to a new friend, sharing personal history, and I started weeping as I was relating the story about my Dad's death....38 years ago.

One of Rob's therapists mentioned that with each loss we re-grieve our previous losses as well as the latest one. I believe it. I know for me it's true.

I'm glad you are talking to your therapist about your feelings. Losing your Mom might be part of the circle of life but it doesn't make it any less devastating.
