difficult child and I meet with a drug counselor this morning (required by his PO) I think it went well. The counselor explained after this initial visit I would not be in the sessions. difficult child would have three sessions after which the counselor will meet with difficult child, husband and me to give his observations and recommendations.
I know the counselor doesn't have a magic wand - but we hope and pray a different voice will help difficult child see how how his drug use is impacting and interfering with life.
Our difficult child is a "normal' kid. Now I'm wondering if ALL teens shouldn't have preemptive counseling to discuss strategies for dealing with stress and choices.
