Barbara, no need to slink.
Good for you for stopping, and I hope the gum works well for you.

(I too had many false starts before I was able to stop for good)

Welcome back!

Come on back with your head held high! It's tough to break habits, be it smoking or eating too much peanut butter ( me!), but you're doing it!! Keep up the good work! Ah, don't your lungs feel better already?

At least you keep trying.

"Stopping smoking again" - it's an interesting way of putting it. It reminds me of a Dame Edna interview I saw years ago; 'she' was interviewing Jane Seymour in a group of celebrities, and the topic turned to marriage. "Janie darling, you've been successfully married three times now, haven't you?" Dame Edna said, typically outrageously.

So you can delight in telling people how many times you've successfully quit smoking. Be outrageous. Enjoy it!

And don't feel guilty - I've been told that quitting smoking is more difficult than kicking a heroin habit.
