So how long should it take...

for the Prednisolone (an oral steroid) to wear off? She was on a hefty dose from a week ago Saturday (2/21) through that following Tuesday (2/24).

Sat: 2 tsp both am & pm
Sun: 2 tsp am & 1.5 tsp pm
Mon: 1.5 tsp both am & pm
Tues: 1.5 tsp both am & pm

She has been eating non-stop for over a week now! She's developed a bit of a tummy and even her backside has gotten bigger. She has grown out of 4 pairs of pants in a week. This is a child that is naturally quite thin!

Shouldn't the excessive hunger started to subside by now?

I don't have a clue. Make sure she drinks lots of water to help flush the fluid retention.

I was on the pills for several days. I don't remember how long it took to recover, but it was weeks.

Contact your pediatrician. Children metabolize medications so differently from adults. Steroids are such a tricky medication. I'd truly check in with pediatrician doctor this morning.

by the way, lots of yogurt, carrot sticks, low fat candies (tootsie rolls are my favorite for a sweet treat), almonds, etc. Anything healthy to fill this excessive hunger. Once summer comes her outdoor activities should help her with the steroid weight gain.
