Our pediatrician believes the age, level of development, and severity is what determines it. Their research is finding the same type of abnormalities in autism/Pervasive Developmental Disorder (PDD), aspergers, quiet add, mixed adhd, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) all the way up to adults diagnosed with CFS and other autoimmune/neuroimmune disorders. I have one son who was thought to be ADHD but it was actually Aspergers with the later addition of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD).
