I had a rough family session with Kanga today. She was trying to sling guilt at me for "abandoning" her and "not wanting me home"..blah blah blah.

I was able to acknowledge her feelings and still connect everything back to her choices. I did not get caught up in defending myself!!! I did not let her manipulate the session!

Of course, we got nowhere because she thinks her choices are totally fine and all of her violence is justified cause people bug her.

It is great to hear from someone calm enough to THINK during these sessions!!!!

I still have to work on the calm!!

    Good for you!!!

Don't forget to take a moment to "reward" yourself today. It can be emotionally draining to set yourself aside in order to ackowledge and affirm the emotions of a person who is trying so hard to attack you.

You are a phenominal Mom, with a child that has extraordianary behavior problems, and you are handling the situation better than anyone else in the world ever could! THAT is why she's YOUR child!
