Please, with the mood disorder, have them put him on a mood stabilizer. Risperdal is an anti-psychotic, and is very helpful for some kids. Was great with Wizard, but isn't for all kids. Many kids with mood disorders need 2 mood stabilizers and an antipsychotic.
Stimulants and antidepressants are NOT good for mood problems, not until you have firmly ruled out any bipolar. Mood disorder not otherwise specified does NOT rule out bipolar, so you have to be careful. There ARE medication and treatment guidelines for this, they clearly say mood disorders need stabilzers as the first-line treatment. I am not sure where these are, we may have them in the archives. Or someone else may have a link to them.
