Voicing books

I've been thinking lately....about jobs and just fun things to do ....and was wondering. Does anyone know how you would go about getting jobs to be the voice of a book on tape/cd?

Is there a school for the blind nearby? A community college that provides resources for students? A school district's Special Education department?

You have contacts with publishers, right? Ask them for some references to people in the recorded book industry.
