Mom? What's a difficult child?
My Favorite car was my 84' Rabbit... with the roll top moon roof I bought it from my buddy who was the original owner and a mechanic, he let me make payments... I loved that thing... I had her until K was 15 months old and we had to move... I used to rip around in that thing with her in the back in her little car seat, all of the windows down.... barely able to pay for gas... she would be giggling with the wind blowing.

It was silver, had some awesome custom mags, and 17 inch tires, that were a touch too big.
Ben took such good care of my baby... I brought her into him once a month to get a check up....
When I sold her I cried... I tried to get her back last year and we were going to rehab her... but our loser friend got rid of her before we could!!!! :frown:

She rallied in the snow, on the highway.... I am gonna go cry now....

I drive a sunset orange Camaro with T-tops but as soon as I win the powerball jackpot I'm ordering a new red Corvette. I don't need Viagra and I'm too old for a mid life crisis so I'm not sure what that says about me.

I have a bumble bee yellow Jeep Wrangler convertible. husband gave me a cool new bumper for Valentine's day. It was the beach car until we moved. Now it sits in the garage. There will be no selling of the toy car.

Fran,
I have not bought a new car in years until we bought husband's truck.

I really searched for my Eclipse until I found a price I was willing to pay and the mileage I could live with--it had 4500 miles on it when I got it. It was a dealer's car.

easy child's car we found and bought it after the Cougar broke down on her while on the strip in Myrtle Beach---(the Cougar's been fine since). Again, good price--4000 miles, never titled--it was a GMC company car.

However, husband's new truck we bought brand new. Nissan had incredible rebates last month, husband hadn't had a "new" ride since 1995---and well, we needed a truck to haul stuff for our rentals. So....we bought new---and a gas guzzler too. But he likes it and it can carry anything!

Well last year our Saturn and 85 Blazer died so we bought a Buick Lesabre. It is comfy. I just don't like the fact husband and I share a vehicle. Hopefully when we get our taxes back we can get something else for him to drive to and from work.

I hit 110 mph (exactly double the speed limit) on I-95 in a 442, only it was a '76, I think. With a CB radio. This other guy up ahead kept telling me to put the hammer down and get off the back door so I could get in the rocking chair. I did put the hammer down but I never caught up, his twenty was always two or three lollipops ahead of me, come back?

BBK & Trinity.........a 442 and a Chevelle???? Yummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!!!! (Is the 442 red with white interior by any chance? And the Chevelle........HAS to be blue!)

Of COURSE we'll have a race! How can we have those three cars and NOT!!!

Speaking of road trip.......you know....I'm not that far away BBK and it IS rural around here. Lots of straight country roads just begging for a good drag race. Ahem.....not that I would know of any good one's. :bag:

All of our vehicles are paid for and I just can't get motivated
to re-up. Star and I have identicals, evidently, and I still love my Explorer. Mine is beige, by the way.

Have you all noticed that you drive differently depending on which vehicle you are in?? We have a Toyota, an F150 and the
explorer. I almost change personalities depending on what I am
driving and where I am. Good heavens, on the back country roads
of central Fl. you would think a redneck was in that F150! The
Toyota bores me to death and I tend to speed when I'm bored. My
Explorer and I, however, seem to have our collective old selves
on an even keel. DDD

Meowbunny, I plead guilty to being a car snob, too. When we adopted difficult child I gave up my new red sports car because I didn't think it was safe for him. He's now twelve and husband bought me a black Jaguar. I love it.

Ditto GVC. Mine is a 2000 Corrolla with- 126K miles.
I personally, am just glad it is paid for, never mind I drive the crappiest car of anyone at work, and I would, under no circumstances, drive any friend or any aquaintance in it, unless they were perhaps homeless.

My favorite? My 71 Lemans (muscle car!!!) That bummer was absolutely awesome...ate the road AND gas! Lent it to my sister who blew the tranny!

Next a 65 Chrysler Imperial. You could raise a family of 8 in the back seat! Used to pile 5 friends in the car, and drive to see if we could get lost. Oil pump went and so did the car! Gave it to my brother and he couldn't get brake drums, so off to the graveyard it went.

Next: my first flat out financed car. An 84 Chevy Corsica. I loved that car because (how difficult child of ME) I didn't have to share it. I wouldn't even let my evil sister back it out of the driveway!

Eeeew, my next was a Nissan Altima (financed), got laid off, gave it to husband and he claimed that it was loosing its tranny. Surprise, surprise, MUST have a Jeep!

Now I'm stuck with the eggplant. It is the minivan that he purchased while feeling like Joe "Dad" when difficult child 1 was 1 and difficult child 2 was on the way! It's ugly, the windows are not working properly, it smells like McDonalds all the time and no matter how often I clean it, more junk piles up within a days time. It seats 7 which admittedly is necessary since I end up driving my 3 plus lil' sis and her 2 around.

Pet Peeve: the guys that drive around with the seat mostly reclined and their arm around their "fake girlfriend" in the passenger seat (you know - there's no one there!) and the radio with full blasting bass cranking out so loud that you can hear the speakers cracking.

Mustang, you're right on the money. The Chevelle is blue with 2 big white "go faster" stripes up the middle. And yes, a road trip sounds like an absolute BLAST!

When enough of the ice melts to make a big-:censored2: rear wheel drive safe around here...I'm all set.

Wheeeee!

My dream car is a 67 Mustang GT 350.

You know...one of those cars that will pass everything, but a gas station.

 Not really.....MY first car was sooooooo better!!! *snort* **tossing my hair in a high school queen way* I had a '76 Mercury Monarch we got from the junk yard for $75.

The suspension was shot, the electrical was frightening, it was so far out of alignment it almost drove sideways, the heater only blew out hot air in the summer time, the windows were ALWAYS off track, seat belts didn't work (but as long as I was thrown into the backseat I would have been fine as there was so much trash back there I had plenty of cushioning) and I had to use a screwdriver to open the trunk. Oh, and did I mention the time that the drive shaft FELL OFF while I was going down the highway? Biggest POS there ever was!
