husband & I met at church and got to know each other during a lot of church potlucks. So when we got married we did a potluck for the reception. We had meat/cheese trays and veggies trays to help fill in for the potluck. Didn't need it. Everyone LOVED the potluck idea. They went all out and all of them said that bringing a dish for the potluck made them feel like they were a part of the wedding instead of just watching it.
