When you get the time, pls see Wen's post regarding an 8 year old child she is raising.

From the sound of things, this child was savagely abused as an infant and toddler, and has such severe behavior/socialization issues, that in my opinion the child needs to be removed from the home and put into (likely permanent) care.

Short term hospitalizations have not helped.

If you can, please provide some ideas for her. I was very "short" because I have no direct experience with this sort of thing, and to be very frank, the entire description just made my hair stand up on end.

thanks, TM. That was literally the first time a post has freaked me out that badly. The child has so many red flags up at once that you can't even see them as warning signs for one specific diagnostic path to consider.
