My grandmother used to say "I'm not insane and I have the release papers from the State Hospital to prove it!" This was just shortly after Ken Kesey's book "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest", which was written about our state hospital, came out. As I recall it, only the sane people couldn't get out of that hospital.
