again, the little things

My mentally challenged employee came to me today, and gave me some cookies he had me made as a gift. He explained to me how to heat them up, and then probably sensing I wanted to give him a hug, he stuck out his hand and said Merry Christmas.

Out of the 90 employees that I work with, this is the only gift I have received - and one so straight from the heart it brought tears to my eyes. It struck me deeply, and for so many reasons, and so many levels. Bless him.

That is so sweet! You must have made a deep impression on him! Yes, it is the little things so many times that let us know there is a reason to get up tomorrow and that when we least expect it, someone noticed and cared and maybe we touched someone's life, so they want to show appreciation- or maybe they are reaching out trying to just be noticed and appreciated and trying to touch someone else's life. I'm glad you found that moment today- you deserved it!!
