Janet...what are the two states? NC and Fla? I ask because I was found guilty of neglect for leaving Cory alone with Jamie when he was 11 and Jamie was 13! So I find it very hard to believe that it is perfectly fine and dandy for someone to leave a 3 year old alone with an 11 year old. Oh...and my mom almost got into trouble in SC because she left my six year old (at the time) alone with my elderly grandmother while she ran to the corner store to pick up a gallon of milk. She was gone 10 minutes tops but during that ten minutes the hospice people happened to pull up. The six year old was my oldest and quite mature and sedate and my grandmother was bedridden so she wasnt going anywhere. Billy was quietly watching cartoons till he answered the door. And she lived in a trailer park and the store was at the end of her road in the park. She was about 5 trailers from the store. So...it is a big deal in SC too. Maybe its a southern thing.
