First, some background...we have a street in town named "Audubon", which leads to a park that is also a bird sanctuary. We've driven past that street hundreds of times. I know Miss KT has seen it before.
On our way home last night, we drove past Audubon, and Miss KT asked why the street was called that. I was kind of surprised, and asked, "Don't you know who Audubon was?" She thinks for a minute and says, "Oh, yeah. He's the guy who invented the freeway system in Germany."
13 years in the California public school system, and she can't tell the difference between Audubon and autobahn.
