Do not minimize the danger you were in. It is hard not to because this is your son. One thing that I had asked myself on several occasions was "What if it was my husband that did this what would I do?" then after i answered that I asked 'What if it was a stranger?" It helps get your perspective back as to the severity of the act. Take the time to take care of yourself. No one goes through what you just did without some effects.
