I'm really glad you're seeing your therapist today. I understand how easy it is to get sucked into these battles...especially so when you're not feeling strong yourself. For what it's worth, even the best children don't appreciate their parents until well into their 20's...or beyond. Motherhood is a thankless job. Mothering difficult child's even more so. Take some time for you. Even if it's only 10 minutes a day. I found that if I could have 10 uninterrupted minutes after I got home from work to change clothes and just switch gears that the evenings were much smoother. If I didn't get that 10 minutes, generally because of kids making demands on me or kids fighting, etc., it set the tone for the whole evening. We're human, too, and can only take so much before we hit our limit. When that happens you need to decompress, rebuild and find new ways of dealing with things. Hugs to you.
