[QUOTE="gcvmom, post: 215636, member: 3444"] Since the wildfire went through here last weekend, we've heard coyotes howling most nights at one end of our street or the other. It's going to be very slim pickin's for them in the hills for a long time, since about 90% of the state park burned. Which means they'll hit the sidewalks and start looking for an easy meal of either pet food left out... or a small pet left out! Well, I've had this freezer full of about 10 pounds of freezer burned trout that I probably would never eat because of the somewhat polluted water they were caught in. So I loaded it all up in a bag and hiked out to the mouth of the canyon at dusk and tossed the fishies hither and yon just off the trail. Hopefully the critters will find it tonight or tomorrow and enjoy the free meal. And maybe they'll have enough strength to move on across the valley to the mountains where food is more abundant...
