mama, I am very concerned about your safety. Will social services also be interviewing you (seperately) during this evaluation so you can explain the serious assults? I would request this. Have you tried to call your county community mental health for an assessment? I had to move out of our home to be safe, I pray they are able to place your difficult child.

Robbinboots, unfortunetly it does happen, the officers have come to our home in regards to assult, called the jjc, finds there is no room and leaves you with your difficult child, then I would get concerned of retaliation for calling 911.

Please keep us posted
Sending hugs and prayers

Update

difficult child went to his social services appointments. He really got the therapists to believe he wanted help and will cooperate. Well, he knows exactly what they want to hear and then on the way home he tells me how stupid therapy is and how he is not going to go.

difficult child skipped his 4th-6th periods two days over the last 3 days. He never had an attendance problem previously. Well, he went back to the school office today and supposedly they gave him a 3 day in school suspension. We were not notified. He tells us he will not go. We told him we will call the police to help escort him to school if need be. He actually usually likes school and only misses when he has suspensions. Ugghhhh. I am not sure why he is doing this now.

He has an appointment with the his psychiatrist tomorrow and one with the county social services dept the following day. We will see if he will go.

Many thanks for letting me vent here and get some fresh ideas.

Well, my difficult child started skipping more classes. He started drinking more alcohol and smoking marijuana more often. difficult child would leave home at 6 am and return at 9 pm going straight to bed. difficult child was so unhappy with everything but could not change. difficult child is now at Residential Treatment Center (RTC). Very tough decision but complete change in environment and structure may help. Outcome studies seem to report about a 50% chance of positive outcome, but better than the 0% chance he had at home.

Wishing you all respect and piece of mind in your homes and lives.

Update

difficult child has now been in Residential Treatment Center (RTC) 3 1/2 months. He still needs more time to turn around there, but seems to be going in the right direction . We have not regretted our decision to send him there. Our life at home has some time for peace and mending right now.

Hang in there everyone!
