G'day, folks.
Sharon/WO, go easy with the exercise if you have a bad cold. Too much exercise when you're unwell can make you sicker. Mild exercise plus extra vitamins can help you recover faster, though.
TM, what is a beach sweep? A sort of clean-up campaign? The party afterwards will be a good reward for hard work.
Sharon/LDM, enjoy some relax time after the morning rushabout. We sometimes do the movie thing too, plus we bought a popcorn machine years ago for just such occasions. Movies - we had NOTHING on TV tonight, other than sport. But one obscure little TV station was playing the Glenn Miller Story (the Jimmy Stewart/June Allyson movie). So we sat up and watched that together. I've seen it before several times, I like it each time. But time for bed now. Tomorrow won't be quite as busy, but busy enough. At least I'll be able to sit and relax!
Jo, enjoy the pool cleaning. Does ANYONE enjoy pool cleaning? Something we do in Australia during winter - we stock our swimming pools with Rainbow Trout (cooler states) or Barramundi (tropical states). Some places even set up hydroponics for the plants which runs the water to and from the swimming pool. The plants clean nitrogen from the fish-tainted water and cleaner water gets returned to the pool.
Well, I survived Saturday.
We decided to grab the chance to go to the open day at the nuclear reactor. The last one was five years ago! We knew it would make for a busy day because of my schedule meeting in the afternoon, but husband & I have never been to the reactor before. So busy day or no... had to do it. It's the only nuclear reactor in Australia, primarily a research reactor. This one is new; it's predecessor is being decommissioned over the next 10 years and apparently 'the world is watching to see how we do it," we were told.
We were rushed but enjoyed the time we spent there. Very high security - higher than catching a plane - but fairly unobstrusive, considering. Lots of Homer Simpson jokes, of course. Then we split up - me to my meeting, husband to drop difficult child 3 off at his tennis coach's place to help clean bricks.
My afternoon meeting went well but a bit over time. We're planning a dinner for a local organisation, as well as some workshops for children and writing. Three or four upcoming events, a few niggles but they're being straightened out. I've got some radio publicity to organise.
Tomorrow we're going on a one hour steam train ride through Sydney's inner suburbs. Of course for us it will be an hour's train ride each way just to get there! Still, it will be fun. husband is taking loads of photos. Considering we could take NO photos today, he will make up for it.
Monday difficult child 3 has a study day at school plus I have a specialist's appointment I am going to have to cancel at the last minute. I don't think I can squeeze in both. Plus I have some more admin to sort out with school, it will be easier to do it in person. He has another Study Day on Thursday, it's a busy week for him. And for me. I think Tuesday is my only free day - and I suspect easy child 2/difficult child 2 is going to want to spend the day sewing the last bridesmaid's dress, in one big workshop day. I still need to telephone the florist and organsie soem times with her, to drop off the ivy from our garden and to collect the bouquets. And perhaps order some spare bunches of flowers for the flowergirl's head wreath. Roll on, October!
Enjoy your Saturday, everyone!
