i have a post in general parenting which i feel belongs here. how do i move it to this thread area?

Hi, the moderators can move it I think, you can send them a message if you want. I just responded to you in general which is a fine place to start out. If you want you can copy paste it to that forum and just explain that you double posted since you are new and starting out. Many of us click on the "new posts" button on the top so we see new people from every forum. But there are some who do specifically check the form related to their parenting situation. In general issues often overlap all of the forums and people from PE have been through so much that I love it when they help me.

I cant move it from general but have sent out a SOS. It should get moved soon. Welcome though.
