[QUOTE="gcvmom, post: 302346, member: 3444"] 3Shadows: "Well, Jane, it just goes to show you, it's always something." Yup. Story of my life. I just pray it's not my kid in the headlines some day... well, at least not for THAT kind of thing. :faint: The fires are still going strong. They don't predict full containment for two more weeks. Last I heard the area burned was larger than Chicago. It's probably bigger now, and will end up somewhere the size of, oh, Houston, TX if I had to guess. It's now thought to have had a human cause, but there's no word whether it was accidental or arson. What's tough is that much of the areas burning have not seen fire in 60-100 years. It's way overdue. Most of the native plants here rely on periodic fires for their seeds to germinate anyway. klmno -- and how did a sheriff's officer go to the door to follow up on a neighbor's complaint about strange activity at that house, and NOT see the tents and other stuff in the backyard???!!! :hammer: Somebody's head should roll for that.
