Thank you all again so very, very much!
I'll explain what we were told about the cyst. Many people have cysts in their brains and don't even know it. Some never find out. If they don't cause trouble due to being in a bad spot, they are harmless. We were at TWO hospitals last night. The one closest to our house is rather unsophisticated. The doctor there did a C-T scan and decided that the cyst had to be sitting on the optic nerve. He even mentioned that possibly there had been a small bleed. I was scared to death. As alawys, hub acted very calm and matter-of-fact, joking with the nurses and doctor.
The doctor wanted him to go right away to a very good teaching hospital that has specialists in the ER. They wanted him to see the on-call Ophthalmologist and the on-call Neuro-Surgeon and so did I.
I couldn't leave Sonic and Jumper home alone all night, and I *knew* it would be all night so he called a cab and I went home, feeling really scared. When I got home, I didn't want to scare the kids so I made light of it and waited by my phone for husband to call me for an update. He didn't call until 2am. I was still awake. When he told me, I was overwhelmed with relief. My mother had died of brain cancer and all I could think about was that. But it all turned out about as good as it could turn out, although hub is only 55 and young to have a cataract. It could have been worse.
Thanks again for all the support
