"I'm going to grow out of my ADHD now."

I think that "growing out of" ADHD is more a function of maturity and developing coping mechanisms/rituals that permit you to get along in society.

My thoughts as well. An ADHD friend of mine is a fabulous preschool teacher. She has tons on energy and approximately the same attention span as her students. It is a great fit. She is one of those people who is always going in three directions at one time and manages to do so pretty well. She admits that sometimes she thinks about getting an office job but knows that she could not handle the sitting all day. She also struggles with the administrative tasks of her job like writing newsletters and student progress reports but she is incredible at working with kids and has really found her niche.

I think it is not so much about out growing ADHD as learning to manage it.

Absolutely. And, again, that's in an individual with-o other issues such as Asperger's and/or bipolar.
