IC, neither can Sonic. But he is in an assisted living program for work and on the waiting list for his own apartment and he feels good about himself for bringing home a paycheck. There are services for the disabled. We can't live forever and in my opinion it's best if we prepare our disabled kids to make it on their own. I don't know about Canada, of course, but the services in place for Sonic are awesome! :) The services are all FREE. I have had serious depression issues all my life. I didn't need any doctor to tell me that. I knew it. And although it did cause anger, it did not force me to scream and swear at those who loved me. I tried to work part time. I found good medications. I'm on SSDI now, but, thank god, I'm not 59 and still depending on my 88 yer old father! Janet, agree 100% with your post. It's different before the child is an adult rather than afterward and there is no excuse whatsoever for domestic abuse against a parent. None.
