My dog has a prolapsed third eyelid/red eye

She got a shot and some cream from the doctor Friday and Saturday she seemed fine...her eye looked great. Today it looks like it's getting red and distorted again. Anyone have this experience with a dog who had this? Lucky is a lab/cocker mix who is nine years old. I heard this can lead to loss of an eye :anxious: But we'd rather do that than lose her. Thanks!!!!

In Bostons they call this "cherry eye" and it's fairly common. It can be fixed with a very simple surgery although there are a couple of different ways of doing it. They just basically tack it down.

What Donna said: the surgery is simple and shouldn't be too expensive. It's also the best treatment if the problem doesn't resolve on its own with medical txx.
