Maybe things will look different in the morning, but this may be the straw that broke the camel's back. He is supposed to have aids to help him. They are supposed to be able to recognize when he is getting frustrated, and help him self-regulate. Help him navigate social situations. Help him de-escalate. So far, best I can tell, they've just made the situations worse. They did not lay a hand on him ONE TIME last year. In 5 weeks of school, they have restrained him 3 times. Called the cops to help. Where were the aids? What were they doing???? If the aids had been doing what they are supposed to be doing, they wouldn't have been yanking him out of recess to begin with... They couldn't handle him when they tried to keep him out of recess on Friday. They really think they can keep him out of EVERYTHING tomorrow? They think they can handle that????? Really? What changed, all of a sudden??? Oh, and what punishment did the aid get that a) didn't get involved enough to stop him from throwing rocks at kids he perceived to be teasing him b) didn't let anyone know it happened, and c) allowed that scenario to happen THREE TIMES?? Wee's being punished? What about the adults that were supposed to be there keeping that exact thing from happening??? Super told me he would not be suspended because its too long over the weekend...he won't get it. She said he was 2-3 years old and that's how you had to handle him. I said exactly. At best, he's 5. And I find out he's suspended. I am angry enough right now...if it was not too late to call these people...I would be on the phone. I almost did, anyway. What do they really expect tomorrow to bring by doing this???? I mean, really? I am to the point, that either this **** stops RIGHT NOW, or they are done dealing with me. They can deal with people on my behalf, but I will be done. Bad timing, I know, but this is a crock. This is a power struggle between a 30 something woman and an impaired 8 year old, and that's bull.....
