Something plesant for a change

My much missed easy child son sent an email today. Just chit chat and pleasant, as usual, BUT he told me that he and his family are planning on Thanksgiving at our house. That is huge to me. Really I had been dreading that holiday and even wondering if husband, difficult child#1 and I should go away for the holiday as I knew it would be painful for me to only have three at the table. Here's hoping he keeps his word. I really love the PIA who has shut us out of his life due to his wife. I'm feeling good tonight. GFGmom and her family may or may not join us...but seeing my easy child will make it all bearable. DDD

Yay! Congrats! I hope it works out for you all.

I miss having the big holiday meals with extended family. Haven't had one since I left the North East, oh, 12 years ago! I still try to make a big 'to do' for "just us" but it's not the same.

DDD, that's wonderful news. I was just thinking about what we were going to do for Thanksgiving, too. I miss the big family dinners of my youth.
