At least in my life that is the way things have been for five years now. I thought I had a townhouse lined up. Last night I rec'd an email saying the job holds pay two weeks and that would mean I would have no paycheck until the last day of October and that would only be for one weeks' pay. I flipped over that but slept on it before doing anything. I emailed this morning explaining that since I was paying for all these deposits and would have to pay Novenber's rent at that time, I didn't see how I could make that work and asked if they could help somehow- I'd be glad to let them take it out of my check over a couple of pay periods in November. After waiting two more hours without being able to commit to anyone here ready to help clean out house, I hear back from them that they will make an exception and not hold my pay for that long. I start work on Tues. and they will pay me for all the Oct days I work at the end of October. Shewwww....that was a HUGE relief! Then right before lunchtime, I found out that I didn't get the toownhouse because I have been unemployed the previous year. (I thought they would be more concerned that I had a job for the following year). So everything switched gears again. Nnow I have to go to a hotel until I can secure housing. That's fine except I't's going to cost extra money that I really need for deposits and living. I have a place lined up to look at this weekend and it is owned privately so there's no two-day application process. But the man is out of town until Monday. He's going to try to get a friend to show me the place Sat. It's the lower floor of a real old home and photos look pretty neat. He says there is a lady living upstais who has two small dogs and a lady down the street who comes over and walks and feeds dogs for a very reasonable price if someone needs a pet-sitter. Please keep fingers crossed that this one works out. He's willing to let me pay the deposit in two payments which I now desparately need since I'll be spending about a week in a darn hotel. Monday is a federal holiday. Will utility companies be open on Monday?
