Good morning!
Yesterday, I posted that difficult child had done NONE of the chores she was asked, and husband had had enough and was going to take away everything difficult child owned as a consequence...
So, last evening when husband arrived home from work, difficult child was still laying on her bed. husband very calmly asked her whether she had taken care of any of the yard work he had asked her to do. She mumbled something about getting to it later that night (of course, now that it was dark and starting to rain).
So, without another word husband got the door from difficult child's bedroom (which had been removed some time ago) and put it back on the frame and locked her out of her room.
difficult child responded by flying into a rage: yelling, swearing, starting to smash things...
husband, who was cool as a cucumber asked if difficult child if she was going to get herself under control, or whether he was going to have to call the police. difficult child shrieked at him the things that she was gonna do to him and/or his stuff....but husband stopped her and asked "Are you threatening me?" He told her if she threatened him, he would call police.
difficult child continued to scream and yell and swear and cry--BUT, she did stop threatening....AND she stopped smashing husband's stuff. So far, so good.
At dinner, difficult child refused to eat and explained that she would not eat another bite as long as she lived (BUT, she ate anyway the moment she thought nobody was looking.)
We had an appointment scheduled with the psychiatrist today, so I thought it would be a great opportunity to discuss the continued chaos in our home.
Unfortunately, when we arrived for the appointment (which we had scheduled months ago), we were told that the psychiatrist appointment had been CANCELLED by the therapist and that difficult child could not get an appointment with the psychiatrist until it had been cleared by the therapist and even then, psychiatrist did not have any openings until the end of March.
What?!?!?!?!????
I don't know whether to laugh or cry. On the one hand, it is OUTRAGEOUS that our appointment could be cancelled with any reason or notification...but on the other hand, this is our lovely county mental health facility, so it figures. I can't say that I'm totally surprised that this kind of baloney would happen.
So we are on our own again...
And husband is not going to let difficult child have access to her bedroom until she does all the chores that he asked--and to his specifications.
Fun.
