Good Morning Monday

G'day, people.

The sun was out today in Sydney, but it's still cold. Once the sun goes down, the temperature drops.

I had a houseful today, although they were mostly quiet. As usual easy child 2/difficult child 2 & BF2 stayed quietly out in their sleep-out, only invading the kitchen to forage and graze. difficult child 1 emerged early (woken by me) because it was his monthly day off and he had business to attend to (I need to post separately). I also kept an eye on difficult child 3's schoolwork and also managed to fit in another massage session on my torn muscle.

It's after sunset now, I'm about to head for the kitchen to get dinner happening - a Chinese stir-fry, chicken, with whatever vegetables I have handy. Beyond that I'm not sure what I'll do exactly, as usual I will invent it as I go. husband will help me cook it when he gets home, I just finely slice the meat, put it in my invented marinade, cut up the vegetables and put each lot into different wooden bowls which I line up in order of when to add them. We put rice on to cook in the microwave oven just as we start to do the stir-fry. By the time the large wok is full of a finished chicken and vegetables meal, the rice is done and the blokes (plus me) can come and fill their faces. Plenty for everyone.
easy child 2/difficult child 2 is at college class tonight, so I can add ingredients she won't eat. I also need to get something else for difficult child 3 - he won't eat stir-fried meals.

Evenings can be busy here, but the aim is to keep the difficult children as well-fed as possible so they will give me some peace.

Tomorrow easy child 2/difficult child 2 & BF2 want me to go with them to check out the lease on their new flat. I'm using it as a bargaining chip to get her to do something for me for a change. I'm also sorting out more bureaucracy bungles on difficult child 1's behalf - I'm getting to really loathe government agencies! I'm also trying to organise a Learning Team Meeting for difficult child 3, we've not had one in three years because technically, as a correspondence student, it hasn't been available.

It will be a busy, interesting day tomorrow.

Just like every day!

Enjoy your Monday.

Marg, you're dinner sounds wonderful. I stir fry just the way you do - whatever is on hand gets dumped in the wok. I also have a steady supply of jasmine rice (we have a large Asian population here & I find great ingredients close by).

:coffee2: The coffee is tasting fine this morning though I believe I'll end up going through the entire pot this morning rather than saving a bit in my carafe for later in the day.

I need to run out to wm's school with a permission slip this morning, then over to Target to find a new light for over my kitchen sink. It finally gave up the ghost. Back here for a nap before kt gets home from school.

Grilling out chicken this evening with corn on the cob & rosemary garlic potato slices. All done on the grill means no mess in the kitchen.:happyguy:

Here's to a productive day. Hope the sun shines, the grounds dry out & our difficult children are cooperative. Have a happy day.

A maze of Grace - that about sums it up
Yaaawwwwnnnn, morning, I normally never make it on the boards in the AM, but difficult child I is taking forever in the shower to get ready for attendance school.

Restless nite last nite for me, dreams are loitered with S2BX, guess the anxiety of his upcoming release is building.

For a brief moment I thought I could walk this morning, and then I eyeballed the laptop and said nah, LOL

No big plans today, just work and surviving difficult child's. My Mum is away on business so it's just me and my Dad holding down the fort.

Welp guinea pigs are squeeling time to go gather the breakfast.

Good Monday morning!

Marg, your dinner sounds yummy! Glad you can keep everyone happy and well-fed.

Linda, your dinner sounds wonderful, too. You're all making me hungry. Hope you get your errands done.

Amaze, sorry you're having bad dreams. Hope you get some rest tonight.

J has already left for "work" -- his very first (non-paid) job as a counselor-in-training at the preschool camp he (and his sisters) attended many moons again. He's not happy that we signed him up for this tour of duty, but we weren't going to allow him to lie around on the couch watching TV for 4 weeks until we go on vacation. We'll see if he's in a better mood when he gets home this afternoon.

M starts theatre camp this morning. I'm going to drive her and a neighbor friend there at 8:30 am. A leaves for overnight camp in Maine on Wednesday so she has both a dentist and orthodontist appointment today. That and last-minute errands will keep us busy while the others are in camp.

Enjoy your no-meltdown Monday. Hi if you snuck in.

Monday!!! Already???? When will Friday come?

Marguerite - Wish I could send some of our warm weather your way. It is suppose to get hotter and hotter here as the week goes on meaning possibilities of thunderstorms later in the week.

Timer Lady - I remember how fast the days went when I was a stay at home mom. I sure miss those days. For some reason I think if I didn't go into work, sooner or later someone will figure it out and they will stop paying me.

Amaze Of Grace - Yep, the computer gets top priortiy over walking - especially when you get a chance at the Good Morning thread.

I am having a typical "Its Monday? Noooo!!! I can't get going. I want my weekend to continue through the Summer!"

Oh well, atleast difficult child will be happy its Monday - his babysitter was gone last week so today is back to Summer fun.

Happy Monday Everyone!!! Make your difficult child laugh today.

Good Morning Everyone:coffee:,

Marg, Dinner sounds delicious!!! I hope your difficult children give you a bit of peace this evening - You're always so BUSY!!! I hope your torn muscle heals as quickly as possible!!!

Linda, Dinner at your house sounds really good too!!! I LOVE corn on the cob!!! It's still too early here to get any native corn. However, we have native strawberries. I could eat them 24/7... If I could afford too, lol!!! They're $5.00 at our local farm stands.

amazeofgrace, I hope your difficult children are well behaved today and work goes quickly and smoothly.

smallworld, I hope J surprises himself and actually enjoys his "job." difficult child 1 surprised us three years ago when we sent him to overnight camp despite his loud, constant protesting - He loved it!!! It sounds like you have a busy few days planned. I hope everything goes smoothly.

Adrianne, I hope your Monday goes well, the week flies by, and before you know it, it's Friday!!! Hopefully, your difficult child will be in a good mood since the babysitter is back.

Today I have both difficult children and easy child home. So far, difficult child 1 hasn't heard from the high school regarding his nonpaying computer internship this week. So, unfortunately, he is home. I'm just hoping for a "melt-down" free day as the weather isn't too nice today. I have a few errands to run and physical therapy when husband gets home this evening. I should be doing some house cleaning but I'm going to save it for later this week. It's pretty muggy out. Well, I'm going to make some more coffee. This should help me wake up!!!

As always, I hope everyone has at least one reason to laugh or at least smile today... WFEN

:beach_ball: Good Monday Morning from the Mid-Atlantic coast!

It's a beautiful day, the sun is out, the waves are crashing, and easy child and I are getting ready to take our morning walk on the beach. A little late start but heck, we are on vacation!

Marg, dinner sounds great! I made a fabulous Thai Curry Chicken Saturday night for dinner. You may not be able to include that on your program because of the coconut milk (it's light, but still may be off limits for your eating regiment). Always sounds busy at your house!

Amaze, sorry you had such a restless night - it's understandable though - hope your workday is an easy one.

Small, I'm sure you predicted J's reaction to his unpaid gig! Let us know what he thinks after the first day. Hope your no meltdown Monday is a good one!

Adrianne, totally understand about "'Nooooooo Mondays"!! Hope it's a smooth and easy day for you!

Linda, you have a busy day planned. You are taking on more and more. It's good to deduct that you are improving as you are able to resume some simple activities. Hope you get the nap in there.

WFEN, perhaps the kids will suprise you today - it is no meltdown Monday after all! Keep thinking, "the power of the board, the power of the board"!!

Well, need to get moving here. easy child and I will take our beach stuff down on our way to our walk and, as my father used to always say "establish the beach head". When we were growing up, we lived at the beach in the summer. Dad would come up Friday afternoons and stay until Monday mornings. Every Saturday and Sunday morning, dad would have the four us kids schlepping the beach gear down to make sure we had a good spot!!! That way when mom and dad came down, everything was ready!

Hope your Monday is a good one.

Good Morning,

Marg-It does sound like you had a busy day. Chicken stir-fry-Yum!

Linda-Sounds like you also have a busy day and your dinner sounds so good that I think after I stop by Marg's for dinner I'll join you at your house!!

AOG-Sorry about the nightmares-I hate them! Sleep better tonight!

SW-I bet J will end up loving it! I hope M enjoys her theater camp and I bet A is excited for the overnight camp! Never a dull moment at your house!

Adrianne-Sorry it's back to work for you today. I hope the week goes fast!

WFEN-I hope you get your no meltdown Monday! Good idea to hold off on the house cleaning-no fun with the muggy weather.

Sharon-I hope you get your good spot at the beach. It's great you are going for a walk with easy child this morning!

We dropped off easy child yesterday on campus. I called last night to let her know someone had called. Fortunately, she is having a great time so far! She said the dorm bed is really uncomfortable but was having a good time with friends!

husband, difficult child, and I have already been out to breakfast. husband went to the casino with his sister last night and won $30.00 so he wanted to go out for breakfast today.

difficult child starts basketball camp this afternoon-it's only 2 1/2 hours but I'm glad he is going as he is already starting to get bored with summer.

I have to go into work on some curriculum today with my teammates-just 4 hours so it shouldn't be too bad. It's cool here this morning so I may walk my dog before I go in or I may sneak in a few extra minutes of sleep.

Later I will go to the club and hopefully squeeze in a nap.

Wishing everyone a happy Monday:D

I forgot to mention - Fran (if/when you check in), you mentioned last night you were watching "Andromeda Strain" - were you referring to the early 70s classic? I love that film, it's one of my favourites! Love the book, too.

And LDM, I do use coconut cream in cooking but a little goes a long way, I don't worry too much. I eat it with brown rice, though.

And everyone else - you all sound so busy! I envy your summer, but as from yesterday the days are getting longer for us, so I can be patient. You're all sharing your summer with me, so I'll share mine once again when it arrives here.

As for no meltdown Monday - sorry, I have too many reasons to lose my temper. I posted separately but it IS long, so only go there if you've got time to read...

Good afternoon all. I have been a little busy this morning but I wanted to say hello.
difficult child is overdrawn on his checking account by quite a bit. :nono: Same old, same old. I'm not bailing him out. Hope he figures it out.

Marguerite, I watched the new Andromeda Strain with Benjamin Bratt. It was very good. I watched the 70's version a few years ago. husband and difficult child are sci fi kind of guys.

LDM, I sure hope you have the best beach vacation ever. I love the idea of establishing a beach head for the parents. :beach:

Timer your dinner sounds yummy. You do sound a little more like yourself.

Wiped out, hope the day is short and productive. Too bad about being cool out.

amazeofgrace, I can understand some anxiety with a S2BX. Hope you get to rest up today.

smallworld, hope difficult child gets something good out of his "job". I agree that sitting around is a recipe for disaster.

Adrianne, glad difficult child likes the sitter. I wish everyone had the summer off. I would love to get to do all those things I put off, with husband.

wfen, good luck with a no meltdown Monday. It's always a wonder we survive.

Nothing exciting here. It's Monday so it's laundry and bills and going through the mail.
