G'day, folks.
A very quick note tonight, husband & I have a big day tomorrow and need to get SOME sleep! We've got to get difficult child 3 in to the research clinic by 10 am, to complete the documentary filming. Not sure exactly what to expect there. I do have some paperwork to fill in, I'll probably do it in the car on the way in.
After we finish, we have time to kill in the city. We have a wedding to go to at 3 pm (Sydney Botanic Gardens) and then after that we have a bit more time to kill before the wedding reception at 6 pm.
I've been worrying about what to wear to the wedding. But whatever it is, I can't wander around the city all day wearing it. So I need to pack a change of clothes and also find somewhere to change. PLus what I wear in the morning (for filming) shouldn't look too ostentatious, I'm only supposed to look like a Mum taking her kid to the specialist... an evening gown at 10 am is a bit of overkill...
So I'll probably just wear a simple dress in the morning, or a simple shirt and trousers. Separates are probably better, it's easier to get changed in the car while wearing separates. It's going to be one of those occasions where you dress an outfit up, or down... plus we're taking mother in law's car so my usual emergency stash (shoes, tins of fast food etc) will not be available unless I transfer them over.
So I'd bettter get to bed so I'm awake enough in the morning to sawp stuff over.
Today I had to see my rheumatologist, and as mother in law was still really sick (possible pneumonia, she was worried) I took her out with me. I dropped her across the road at the private hospital ER. Because she's a war widow she has preferential status with health insurance, so it was the best place for her. The regular GP she tried to see earlier in the week was on holidays, and my GP is sick.
So while I was seeing my specialist, mother in law was waiting to be seen at the hospital. I walked over after my appointment to find she was the only patient in the waiting room. She wascalled in only a few minutes after I arrived. The doctor said her chest is clear (thank goodness) but she needed antibiotics, she has a middle ear infection as well as bronchitis. Not good in a lady of 85!
So I went to fetch the car, collected her a few minutes later, drove to the mall and we both got a bit of shopping done (so she doesn't have to leave the house tomorrow, she can stay home and rest). I took her to the pharmacy on the way home, she she has her antibiotics script filled.
Tomorrow after we've finished in the city in the morning, we will put difficult child 3 on the train to come home. He'll have to catch the boat as well and travel alone, but it should be an adventure for him. He can always ring us if he needs to. And we're confident he'll be fine.
I've asked him to take a frozen curry down to mother in law's tomorrow night, plus some rice from the fridge. That way he and mother in law have a home-cooked meal for dinner; she's just too ill to cook for herself at the moment. Plus difficult child 3 will be company for her, she'll make a bit of effort if she has him over for dinner. I froze the curry into double-serve packs, although we had one for dinner tonight and it actually did three of us (although I don't eat much).
It's times like this that cooking in bulk and freezing, really pays off!
Enjoy your Thursday.
