Lisa, there is ALWAYS the chance they could bring in other docs who would say anything they want for a fee. There are LOTS of docs out there who will do this. LOTS of them. So be sure that the docs your mom sees normally have seen her recently and are willing to go to court if they are needed (meaning if bro finds a doctor to take his side, which any shyster lawyer will have lined up long before he meets your bro). Your bro sounds VERY easily led so a shyster could easily lead him to thinking this is for your mom's best interests. I am sorry that it is such a mess.
