I think a lot is inherited. My one biological son got walloped with everything I have. Strangely, though, because I have problems (and I think the problems gave me a huge extra dose of compassion for others) I am also in my opinion a very good mother to my son on the autism spectrum. I think I have a lot more patience than others might have. Then again I feel that God (as I believe Him to be) blessed us with one another on purpose. </p><p></p><p>I wish you both luck.
