I have a 10 year old step daughter that talks to herself outloud. She does this all of the time and when we point it out she doesn't even know she is doing it. When she is in the bathroom you'd think someone is in there with her. Is this normal? I've noticed other things that have me worried that she may suffer from depression. She has friends at school but has no interest in talking to them after school. She never calls them or ask if she can have anyone over. Most days she hangs out with the family and is happy. She is willing to help and seems fine. Other days she is withdrawn. She will go to her room and stay in there alone. She will snap at her siblings and generally has the attitude of "I don't care". I understand that this comes with getting your period and hormones but is it normal to be this withdrawn from friends and the outside world? Any suggestions would be great!
